My Little Outlaw

My son isn't just a cowboy, he's the sweetest outlaw there ever was. Over a year ago, I found a real nice child's cowboy hat at an indoor swap. I got it and cleaned it up, and my soon took to it like no other. I even had to teach him that when cowboys go to bed, they hang their hat on their bedpost, so he'd take it off. It was so worn, that when we would go somewhere, my husband would ask, "Does he have to wear the hat?" My three year old also got some cowboy boots handed down from his cousin. Of course they go hand in hand and he has since been my lil'cowboy. And at three years old, he has also earned the title - "lil' outlaw." Hence the cake.

My sister reminded me the other day that I am almost 34 years, OLD. She also said 40 is the new 20. Her birthday is peeking around the corner as well. She is pushing 20, according to her. This cake is for my sister-in-law, who is somewhere in her 20's (wink-wink).

A cherry chocolate cake w/ marachino cherry filling - Tastes like a chocolate covered cherry! I don't like cherries much, and I loved this cake. My father-in-law, Jerry, likes them and it was his surprise b-day cake. Iced in buttercream w/ fondant accents, and chocolate rocks. Did I already say it was yummy?
